Remove the cake from the freezer. While frozen, remove the plastic wrap and collar. Remove the tree cookie from the bag. Remove the parchment paper from the top layer of the cake. Place the tree cookie in the center of the cake (or whatever location on the cake you prefer) and gently press into the frosting using two hands. If not using the cookie as a decoration for the cake, keep sealed until ready for consumption.
